that having her mounted above the fireplace would be the perfect way to honor her now that that she is deceased. It would be a wonderful tribute.

I'd be careful though when you tell others how you have 'mounted' and 'stuffed' her. They may get the wrong impression of you! ;)

While I can not share in your pleasure, my mother in law is still , alas , quite alive. I would like to offer a few suggestions.
My butler, Anthony, after a number of disciplinary actions had to be put down. Though it was a necessary action, I did feel a touch of nostalgia for the years of service he provide. So instead of planting him beneath the rose bed, I had him stuffed. In a servile position of course. And, like you positioned the carcass upon the mantle above the fire place. Every holiday we all thrill and enjoy Raul the driver mounting him for old time sake.
I do love the holidays. And so does Raul.

It's illegal in the 48 contiguous states. (I'm not sure about Alaska & Hawaii) Perhaps if you move to Batswana, then you could have her shrunken and mounted and she would therefore take up less space on your mantel. How nice that you think so highly of your mother-in-law. Will you do the same for your children if they perish before you?
