I have an interview tomorrow in an HR role and have been told that I there will be a computer competency test, testing my knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Can anyone provide any suggestions as to what I can expect to come up in this test and how I can prepare?

Many thanks,

I am a legal assistant and when I was looking for jobs there was an interview I got for an agency and I had to take a couple of computer competency tests too. They are very easy. They will give you a number of tasks to do in each program. They are testing to see your knowledge and experience with each program. Don't worry, they're a piece of cake.

It's a little late now, but the "for dummies" books are fabulous for getting the basics down fast. If you feel weak in either program, you might want to run out and buy the dummies book and work through it tonight.

Best of luck tomorrow!

Based on the complete sentences, proper punctuation and clarity of you question, I doubt you will have an issue!

I would imagine they just want to know if you know your way around these two basic business programs.

I doubt you would be expected to write Excel Macros.
