i need to transfer songs from wma to mp3 format and include my user ratings for each song. any advice?

Super C transfers nearly anything, to anything else, and it's completely free. I use it for all my video and audio needs with great success.

I believe it maintains all id3 tag and metadata information whenever possible. Test it first before running a big batch.
