dude do you even know the Leafs?? what are you talking about?? look at the choices you threw out. out of all those, you know what makes sense?? 1,3 & 7. Trade Raycroft, ok sure w/e. Call Clemmensen up, rather than Pogge because i dont think hes ready for NHL yet.
John- trade Raycroft now because there are teams looking for a goalie so he will be gone in a good deal. trade him for draft picks.get rid of Battaglia, maybe Poni. then fire myself.
Paul Maurice- keep coaching. hey he's doing pretty good.
if im Peddie or any of the MLSE, fire myself & Ferguson. obiviously this is not going to happen (not the Ferguson part, the MLSE one)...at least not in the next 5 yrs or so.

7.- Downplay expectations and just draft some good young players-build up a winning team over a long term cycle.
That means 1.2.3.4. are maybe on the table, but the point is building a winning team takes time and patience. The Leafs expensive free agents managed to miss the playoffs last season, they might as well do the same with younger guys who at least have long term potential. .

If I was JFJ, I would:
1.trade/free agent Raycroft
4.Trade Blake,Sundin or McCabe
5.Name any Canadian player captain
6.Fire Paul Maurice (to cover my own butt) and try my hardest to get a descent coach....namely Ted Nolan.
7.Other - QUIT!

I would try to get rid of Raycroft and send Sundin to a contender. The whole team has to be re-built, but it can't because of JFJ ridiculous contracts. If I were JFJ/Maurice I'd fire myself for the good of the organization.

8. Fire myself in the middle of the season in protest of how front offices are screwing the team by not giving free reign to put together a half decent team.
I'm sorry, name Antropov captain? Antropov? He's putting up better numbers than he was in previous seasons, but he's still not that good as everybody's saying he is. He still doesn't use his brain enough and makes the same stupid mistakes constantly. At least he's consistent in something.

If i was John Ferguson I would move the Toronto Maple leafs franchise to a different location like Las Vegas, Orlando, Saskatchewan or some other place and give the team a makeover.

I think they're doing a great job as it is.
But, then I live in Vancouver and like nothing more than reading about the Leafs getting beat again (won't watch them, though, too boring).
