broadcast = when the message gets sent to all the computers on the network.

multicast = when you send a message to one computer on the network, but the message goes to everyone but doesn't be delivered there, it finds the right host then sends it to it.

Netbois broadcasts all the time in windows....

It searches for new services available on other computers...

They also learn about other machines and their shares.... Network Neighborhood is such and example....

multicast would be a livecast session.... everyone in the livecast will recieve the webfeed, but others will not....

So, only the PCs on the network subscribed would get it.... Not all, like a broadcast...

This should be in homework help. In the future check out the Cisco CCNA webpages. You'll get some great answers plus have all the links to avoid plagerism.
