Yes they do work while i know the first 2 do. But what people make a misktake on doing is trying to do these things when there 2 or so days away or past do and these are not made for that these work better when you do it a month or so b4 your do date you cant expect to have sex and then boom you're going into labor it doesnt work that way. You can try this with your hubby but i say dont get your hopes up and dont over do it cause you can hurt your self. keep in mind those things help you go into labor sooner not actully induce it.

Sex yes. The progestalins (sp?) help to ripen the cervix. Orgasms can also help with dilation due to the contractions you get.
Walk yes. It helps the baby to drop down and put pressure on the cervix which aides in dilation and cervix ripening.
Hot shower... unsure. I've been told that hot water increases the intensity of your contractions. So if you were in pre-labor, maybe this would help.
Hot food, I'm not sure. I've heard both yes and no. My boss's wife SWEARS that she went into labor from eating a whole hot pepper. I think the philosophy behind this is that hot, spicy food stimulates intenstinal cramping, which can trigger contractions. This also means that you can get diarehea, which isn't something I'd want during labor.

I know that sex does - semen has prostaglandin in it, which is a hormone used to soften the cervix to induce labor. As for the rest - not so sure. I would be careful about raising the body temp, as this could affect the baby.
Go for the sex and have fun!

me and my sister tried the walking thin and it did give her pressure but no baby. i will tell you what she did. she drank a tablespoon of castor oil and took a nap. when she woke up- we had to take her to the hospital. she had my neice four hours later. you will get mixed opinions about usin gcastor oil and i assure you it is fine. the worst that could happen is you will have no prob having a bm.
i do know that nipple stimulation does work. so you and the hubby throw that into the mix when you try having sex. good luck and congrats!

Sex- works (depending on how thick the cervix is still)
walking- works (depending on how thick the cervix is still)
shower-no way
hot food- no way
If you really want to get labor started walking or sex like you said or Castor Oil. It tastes horrible but it's been used by women for hundreds of years to help start labor. But always talk to your doctor or midwife before doing any of this! It may be ill vised for you to do anything. Speak with a midwife before you do anything!

Go for it but lay off the spicy foods it wont help. But sex will b/c sperm softens the cevix, walking helps. I also tried sitting up alot b/c it helps to lower that baby so pushing wont be as long! Good Luck!

That is what everyone says...but so far-no luck. The only thing that makes me have more contractions is when the doctor examines me. So my next appt. is Dec. 31st. Hopefully that will get things going. At least it's fun trying though right...my husband and I have had a blast! ;-)
