I am from England too and have lived in the U.S. twice once when I was 11 / 12 and the last time when I was 19 / 20. I remember that where we were was fantastic (L.A. and around there). I remember the view of the ocean from our house on the Pacific Palisades, our neighbours where almost all famous, the food was cool when I was a kid but when I went back at 19 I thought the portions to large and the choice of meat and vegetables very limited. The ethnic food is not much good either as their Chinese and Indian food has been changed to adapt to U.S. tastes. Life as you probably know deep down is nothing like what we get shown on the television. The people are awfully friendly, in fact far more so than they are in the U.K.

It's awesome! But, when you've lived here for 12 years, sometimes you want to go to england. i like the accents and i've always wanted to see these ancient sites up close. America is great. New York City is the best. It is so diverse and there are so many great things. You should at least come on vacation. I go like every other year. There are so many great pizza places and the empire state building, and all kinds of stuff. florida and california are great for the winter because it's warm. you should travel all around america. if you visit the hot spots, you'll love it. but i can't promise everything is awesome....
FYI! I can be your friend, i'm an american.

Although it's a great country, it's depressing when you get down to it. It's difficult to really explain America. I mean it has its perks and its downsides. Some of the people are the most optimistic people out there, but some Americans are so heartless they seem criminal. Some of the sites here are absolutely gorgeous, but others like smoky cities or polluted beaches are quite offensive. It really depends where you go. Our economy stinks here though and our politicians spend so much money on campaigning instead of donating it to charities and such. There's just so much to say! I'd love to talk to you more about it though because it's really an interesting topic. I'm also interested in your country if you'll explain. Maybe we can exchange e-mail or something.

It is not all like that on the tele. You do have some beautiful areas in different types of scenery. Mountains, beaches, open areas. You are just seeing New York and LA California. Not everyone is enthusiastic. But I am very proud to live here, where we can be how we want to be. We have rich, poor, good bad, just like everywhere.

It is a good country to live in because we are a friendly people and try to look out for others. It is such a big place that depending on where you are you can experience different cultures and ways of doing things. As a southern American, I enjoy eating all of the good food and having many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with a variety of activities such as fishing and camping. The big game is American football and every Saturday in the fall we have big games on all of the colleges campuses across the nation. Before the games at LSU, over 100,000 people go the campus and grill different types of meats and seafoods. It is a big party with lots of beer and people throwing around the football.
With a large variety of different types of music that is popular here, there is always a concert to go to. Lots of people visit a coffee shop regularly and read and chat.
America is what you make of it and lots of us live life to the fullest.

Well from what I understand regardless of where we live in the US our summers are always hotter than yours. (I don't know if that is true) We have less cloudy days. Enough about the weather! Living here is alright, I can't really compare it to living anywhere else because I have only been to Canada and that was pretty much like being in America. If you came here it would probably not be to different than being in England except we drive on the other side of the street, our emergency vehicle sirens sound different than yours. People in the States are kind and friendly and many people would probably talk to you just to hear your accent! I don't know what you want to hear, thanks for loving America, its nice to know there are still some people out there that like us!

Welcome! I have been to England and I love your country also. People are so polite there and you have cool old castles :-). Well, here it is different depending on where you live, just like your country. Big cities are much more impersonal but diverse than small towns. We are a new country, relatively speaking, so we don't have as much old historic architecture as you do. We work pretty hard here, to be honest, and don't get a lot of vacation time. I get 12 days a year for vacation and 12 sick days. Not everyone is rich like most of the people you see on t.v. Our landscape is very different depending on what part of the States you are in - palm trees in Florida, evergreens in Maine. Every state has its own "flavor." Hope you can come visit the US sometime and see for yourself.

Thats quite a broad question. America is a big place with many differences depending on where you go. I live in California and love the mostly sunny and warm weather. I can drive to the mountains and the beach all in the same day but there are way too many people in this state. You will find different answers from people in different states and even in the same states.

Thank you and I must tell you that I love your country, too. After all, it is our Mother country. Really, life isn't so different in the US than in the UK. I've visited the UK a number of times . We even took our honeymoon there! You have far better public transport throughout your country than we do here. In most parts of the US we are very tied to the automobile. particularly, here in Texas where I live. We have very much in common, really even language, with a few differences in terminology!! LOL!! My husband and I have a running joke that Sunday evening in our household is 'British night' because we always watch "Masterpiece Theatre" and "Eastenders" and have for years.

Haha, I will be your friend. It's pretty cool. Our main city's are New York City, Chicago, and Los Angelas.
I think your country is way more beautifil, and I want an Engling Accent! It's not that different, I just live my life.
Hmm, There is alot of tourist sites. Sears Tower, Empire State Building, 9/11 Spot, Statue of Liberty. If you go to LA, you will probably see alot of celebrities. Anyways if you have any certain questions just email me.
