You can't catch it but you can reflect it that is the closest you can get to catching the sun ray.

Theoretically, it should be..But science and nature are proving to be much smarter than we are in the 21st Century. We can almost catch solar winds, but not solar rays..We can capture their energy and turn it into something else we can use, but not pure rays..Maybe in the future.

Yes, using a complex system of reflectors and lenses.
The beam will stay "caged", bouncing around your system, until it loses too much energy and dissipates. I guess this means that we have learned how to catch a ray, but not how to care for it.
