The value of splitfire or multi electrode plugs is debatable. So long as you have a standard plug gapped properly and the spark is up to specs you will see no improvement in the more expensive plugs.

There's a new spark plug out by the name of : E3 which has a modified split fire plug gap. I would recommend trying a few in your power equipment ( lawnmowers, weed whackers, and chainsaws). Lowes has them.

As for performance cars the answer is no. GK, Auto lite, Champion and AC Del co seems to be the most popular. Most racing spark plugs have side gaps, platinum and iridium conventional gaped cold plugs.

The name of the game today is iridium plugs for longevity purposes in all cars. Iridium melts @4449 F / 2454 C. Platinum melts @ 3224 F / 1773 C.
From this you can see why the big change over within the past few yrs. Iridium also mechanically very hard almost a ceramic.

I have seen a few cars that had splitfire plugs in them that would not run until I replaced them with OEM spark plugs. Whenever I had a car come in from the used car lot and it had splitfires in it, I always recommended that they be replaced. I would not run them even if I was paid to. In my opinion, NGK are some of the best plugs out there. Multiple electrode plugs will not provide any better performance unless the ignitions system is upgraded to something like a multiple spark system like MSD, and the coil is upgraded to a higher output coil. Then I would still stick with NGK.
