it's a studder block numbskull
the person he's writting to will choke on their words
instead of studdering

whatever
picture the person he's speaking to digging for exuses
and he's comeing out with them for him/her

Sounds like the cocky speaker is envious about a ********* character he/she reads about in a book!
Use 'but' consistently and sparingly because it makes the poem a little incomprehensible.
