I don't know, but it's a little scary for me to see Janis Joplin in the Senior Citizens category!
That's like the first time I heard Paul McCartney and Wings on an oldies station. Say it ain't so!
Never saw her, and I'd have to say Bobby McGee.
Happy New Year!

No, I never saw her in concert even though she was a Texan, like me.
I would pick "Take another piece of my heart."
The song that Melissa Etheridge sang at the grammy awards after she had been fighting cancer.
I did like Me and Bobby McGee. Kris Kristopherson (spelling) wrote a lot of her songs as well. He was from Brownsville, Texas.

I never saw her, although I sure wish I had! The nearest I got (7 degrees of fame) was that a former girlfriend of my son's who was from Port Arthur, TX told us that her mother used to carpool to school with Janis.
My favorite is "Move Over"! I'm sorry, but "Me and Bobby McGee" is just too folksy. If Janis isn't screaming her heart out, it's not Janis! Just watch this woman's energy!

Yes, saw her at Fillmore West and some big Hall thing in San Rafael......In concert
saw her in person........
I remember her more in these places that the beatniks would go and in the Park at the end of Haight Ashbury.....
I do not think she every recorded what I think was here best songs "Ive been Loving You Too Long/Try a little Tenderness"
I heard her sing that with Otis Redding in the Park it was amazing. When I first heard "Take a little piece of my Heart she was sing in a bar (kinda, beaknik, shooting gallery, biker place)

Never saw her in concert, but I like Bobby too. However, since I live in Cleveland where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is, I did see her psychodelic car! That was soooo cool!

I saw an actress playing Janis on the TV show "American Dreams".
I wasn't born until 1978, and I think she died in 1967.
I have her Greatest Hits CD, the one with her on a motorcycle on the cover. I love all the songs, especially "Down on Me", "Get It While You Can", and "Summertime".

Never saw her in concert.
A little piece of my heart.
She was always up there dancing around in her bear feet. Her hair was usually all over the place. With a bottle by her side. I really think she was drunk most of the time. But that girl could sing, and she had Soul.

I never saw her in concert , Her best song for me was Mercedes Benz from her album Pearl. She did it A Capella and that little laugh she does at the end when says that's all just grabs at my heart. She sounded so vulnerable.
