Depends on the harm.

If it's a punch, I'd let my friend/family member take the punch. If it's torture rape or murder, I'd put him down without a second thought.

Yeah, I'd do it if there was gonna be legal stuff too. If it is in defense it is not going to go down like a typical murder trial.
But if what your asking is if I would go seek the person out and kill them (while not in the act of actually hurting the other person); No I would not cause that is not defense, cause you don't know for sure that person is going to be hurting anyone in the future. I would try to protect the loved one without lashing out in violence toward the other person. Violence (in any justified or unjustified situation) does not create peace.

i've got heard of stuff like this at a youthful age, and don't take this too heavily through fact I matured fantastically rapidly as a baby, yet he seems somewhat old to be deceived that incredibly. yet he seems easily penitent.

someone was gonna hurt my family i wouldn't care bout legal troubles i probably would hurt them not kill quite i couldn't sleep with that on my conscious no matter what.

Don't kill them. Maim them for life so they never forget. Killing is to easy on the person who was killed.
