It will last as long as you are willing to be miserable and keep it dragging on.

Only long enough for one of them to realize it's happening... and since your posting this I'd say you've noticed. I wouldn't give it much time unless you start working on getting your communication back. Eat meals together (and not in front of the tv), ask how his day was. My husband and I play random games when there's an awkward silence (if you were on a deserted island and could bring 3 things what would they be) another one I like is kinda weird its called "Marry, F@$%, or kill" you have to name 3 women (I recommend movie stars NO ONE you know in real life) and he has to pick one he would marry, one he would have a one-night stand with, and one he would kill off. Try silly thing like that to get the fun and communication back all at once. :) Good luck.

i don't think there is a specific amount of time..ask yourself this question do you want to save your marriage? does he/she?? or should you both move on with your lives....not speaking must be horrible and lonely...sit down and try to have a serious talk with your spouse it sounds like you really need to ...decide the next step and move forward in whatever direction u both decide ... whatever the outcome the best of luck to your spouse and i hope you and yours both start the new year out right

It usually doesn't because one or the other eventually finds someone to talk to. If you want talk then get him and yourself into some counseling asap or at least a trip out of town where only you and him can be together with no distractions and maybe just maybe you can rekindle what you once had, its still there you just have to dig it out piece by piece.

Good Luck

I have been married 8 yrs and my wife and I talk everyday. Not sure how a partnership could work well without communication.

Most likely if there is no communication, there is no relationship. If you want to salvage your marriage, start talking!
