well more people are hurt on escalators and ferris wheels than on airplanes just don't sit next to window if heights scare you and even if you do sit there its not that bad its like a movie most flights i have been on you can't even tell you are moving just a mild vibration that puts me to sleep like 2 mins in to the trip...as a matter of the fact when i can't sleep at home i think about flying and im out like a light.....maybe that is why im not a pilot....

I hate flying and I have flown a lot. However I get panic attacks on Ferris wheels but have never had a reaction on the escalators... I do not like elevators though. The two parts that bother me is take off and landing. For the most time in the sky you can pretend your not; unless there is turbulence. Hopefully your not flying to far. I would talk with my doctor to get something for the flight to calm down my anxiety. You could also try the book I listed under source... But I would go with meds. Have a nice flight...

OMG you hate excalators? I thought I was the only one, I will always take the stairs. But if I have too I stand at the excalator and hesitate for like 5 minutes. Tell the flight attendant that it is your first time flying and they will help you. I used to be a flight sttendant, I would even sit next to the person sometimes and explain all the noises. It really isn't as bad as an escalator!

Ferris wheels and escalators are open spaces where as a airplane is a closed space. don't sit near the window....i also suggest talking to your Dr for a prescription to help with the anxiety you are feeling. they can order you something to relax while on the plane.

Well I'm afraid of elevators so I feel you sister!! (I'm claustrophobic.)
Anyways, the best advice I can give you to overcome it is to wait until someone else gets on the escalator and then get right behind them...or ask someone to go with you. This usually helps me ALOT (but only for like 5 -10 minutes before I start panicking. LOL)

i have never been on a plane but i know what it is like from what i have heard and on a plane i think you might panick because you are up in the air and flying up and down but its not a distance of 35 feet its a lot more...sorry you will be fine dont worry just watch the t.v. or something...the only time it could possibly be a little bad when you land but you should be just fine happy holidays good luck â¥â¥

See a psych.
A plane isn't stairs or a ferris wheel. You're in an enclosed space where everything moves with you... it's more like a car, bus or train than anything else.

You will do fine. Very few planes have escalators. Or ferris wheels either.

You'll be OK. Few aircraft have escalators and none at all has Ferris wheels. If the one you get on has escalators then just don't use them.
