-I think that immigrants should be registered if they come over here (So that no one with some deadly disease comes over here)
-I don't mind learning Spanish at all (Si, estoy aprendiendo espanol)
-They fill in for jobs that no American wants in the first place.

If we are supposed to protect ourselves from terrorists, why would we leave such a gaping hole in our defenses?

I agree with your 3 points. I think we have such a gaping hole in our border defenses because realistically constructing a fence or guarding the border costs too much money. Then again, the aftermath of a terrorist attack can be expensive too, and can cost priceless lives.

I DO mind learning Spanish! And who says that Americans don't want the jobs that they(Mexicans) get? If Americans would get a decent wage for working said jobs, they would want them.(Alot of Mexicans work 'under the table for less than minimum wage.)There are plenty of Americans who don't have college educations that need those jobs. We are not better off,as a country, with half of Mexico coming into the country getting all of the minimum wage jobs, taking advantage of our welfare system (and other social programs) and filling up our prisons.
Brad The Fox........I'm glad that most manual labourers make nine dollars an hour or more in Texas, but your state doesn't represent the rest of the country. Besides, construction is a little different than say janitorial work isn't it? And I have to say that I resented the 'whitey' remark. I'm concerned with Americans getting American jobs and you have to make it about me being white. By the way, I'm no Yankee!

I'll try this in Espanol .
Yo puedo hablar Espanol cuando yo quiero and cuando yo trato . Pero , no me gusta abrigados o (policies) que diga yo necessito .
Translation -- I can speak Spanish when I want to and when I try . But I don't want laws or policies telling I have to .
Not sure how accurate I was . It's been more than 20 years since I studied Spanish .

Yeah, let's give all the jobs to the aliens/illegal so are kids can set on their butts and play video games and continue live off of mom & dad til their 30 + years old. Tired of going to some fast food joint you can't understand one word they have to say. Tired of giving American baseball away to Jose X, because some scout said he kindn't find an American kid good enough to play American basball....

We definitely need immigrants to do the jobs that our citizens don't want to do (Necesitamos Mexicanos para hacer el trabajo que Americanos no quieren hacer), but we need to allow them into this country under our terms. It is terrifying that it is so easy for them to sneak over here, and even in America, it's easier to steal than to work. We just have richer people to steal from.
Sarah, you are wrong about illegals working for less than minimum wage. It just doesn't happen. I've been in construction my entire life, and they make just as much as whitey. Most manual laborers, legal or not, start out at about $9.00 an hour right now, and that's in Texas (we have a lower cost of living than you yankees).
