Question

Which one of these is correct and you shall get the best answer.......Question= How Did Hitler die???

A) Adolf Hitler poisoned himself and then commited sucide with a gun in 1945

B) Adolf Hitler survived World War II and he went to Antartica to build a home and shelter and died in 1974

- This is a tricky question so pay close attention and remember first answer to get this correct wins 10 points!

a) True. Hitler is belived to have followed medical advice when he decided how to kill himself. Because some people have survived suicide attempts by pistol shot to the head, Hitler's doctor advised him to take potassium cyanide just before pulling the trigger. This would make death a certainty, yet would be a "manly" way to die.

Hitler distrusted the suicide capsules he was given, so he had his German shepherd dog "Blondi" killed with one of the poison capsules as a test.

Hitler died with his new wife Eva Braun. Both had suicide capsules and pistols (Hitler used a 7.65mm Walther PPK), but Eva Braun died of poison only, she didn't shoot herself. All the bunker witnesses agree that Hitler shot himself once in the right temple (not in the mouth) the bullet exiting through the top of his head. Eva was found dead beside him with no wound, but there was a strong odor of almonds in the room, the characteristic smell of potassium cyanide. Eva's pistol was unfired.

b) False. If Hitler had escaped Berlin he would not have gone to Antarctica. There were other more congenial places where Hitler and the Nazis were admired, such as Paraguay, where escaped SS members are known to have found sanctuary.

WordZapper is playing a game here turning on the the meaning of the word "how". For example if I ask someone "how are you doing?" I expect an answer like "Just fine, thanks." or "Not so good, I've got a cold." I don't want to hear a discussion of the biologic functions, as in "How am I doing? Well, it starts with the Krebs cycle ..." However, we're historians here in this topic room, and we use the word "how" in the strict sense, like a journalist does. So for Zapper, how did Hitler die? Quickly, and none to soon.

Or it could be that WordZapper believes that there is another person entirely called Adolf Hitler, not the German dictator and leader of the National Socialist party, but somebody else who shared the same name who died in 1974, in which case the answer is A and B. (I'm very doubtful that the other Hitler existed, it sounds to me like something Art Bell would claim. Show me some evidence, WordZapper)

According to the history books written by the winners of the war but told to them by some of the survivors from the bunker, who by the way were Hitlers selected staff.
Hitler took poison and then ordered one of his staff to shoot him. Then burn the body. I personally don't care if he went off to Brazil or not. The Allies got rid of a fruit cake ruler and won the war.
Should he have been tried for war crimes. Probably yes. But isn't the term WAR CRIME kind of a misnomer.

According to an account written by his valet, Eva Braun took poison, and Hitler shot himself, maybe after also taking poison. The valet then burned the bodies to make them unrecognizable.

It's too bad he hadn't died 6 years earlier,then millions of innocent people would have been spared the evil deeds of this very sick and demented individual.

Neither. His mother ship picked him up before the Russians found the bunker and he went back to his home planet where he was thrown in prison for failing to conquer the earth.

A he poisoned himself and then was shot with a pistol, however I believe a member of the secret police actually shot him.

However if this did not happen he probably would have moved to Argentina instead of Antarctica.

Hitler died when he stopped breathing and his heart stopped pumping blood. That's his corporeal body, anyway.

His soul died much earlier than that.

Actually, neither. Even though Eva Braun poisoned herself, he gave his poison to his dogs. He then shot himself.
