Tickets for a play at the community theater cost $14 for an adult and $4 for a child. If 260 tickets were sold and the total receipts were $2340, how many of each type of ticket were sold?

This sounds like a math question from the Praxis or SAT. Are you trying to get answers for a test you're taking?

130 adult x $14.00 = $1820.00
130 child x $4.00 = $520.00
Total $2340.00

As for exactly how to get to that, try the math section. I can get the answer, but I have a hard time explaining how exactly :-)
