this is for all u political junkies out there personally i think its sad that when we finnally have a strong female in government they assainate her but then again knowing you have so many political enemies should have at least lead her to some caution especially since elections are a few days away
unfortunately the Pakistani people lost an icon and have thrown the country into caos which was probably what they wanted in the first place

I am pretty sure she knew her days were numbered in a place like that. Terrorists don't appove of women being uncovered and speaking out. She knew this. It was only a matter of time before Taliban or Al Qaeda got her. She died trying to bring change though, and doing what she loved. Let this be a lesson to countries welcoming in more and more Islam. This is your future. Read the writing on the wall.

Well for starters, the fact that she was a woman plays no bearing on this to me personally.
I think its a great example of how democracy, fundamentalism and extremism cannot coexist within a border. Its also reminds me of when our country was struggling to embrace democracy and some of our short-falls and tragedies of the time.
They are young democracy still, I don't see how we can compare their current political climate to ours. We could compare it to ours in at the turn of the 19th century possibly, but not today.

Watch what happens in Pakistan. Because of the way the "Patriot Act" is written Bush can do anything he wants just by invoking a "National Emergency" just like Musharef.
EDIT since in 3 seconds I got a thumbs down I guess someone does not believe me. Well don't take my word for it , READ the "Patriot Act" for yourself and see if I am wrong!

its horrible. its horrible. its horrible. i cant believe this happened. my dad knew her, and my grandpa was close by in the blast. she was a wonderful leader and had so much courage to come to Pakistan when she probably knew she would be killed, and now, it think its time for me to cry and wonder if by 2009 Pakistan will be destroyed in the hands of that evil musharraf.

She took a foolish chance going back to Pakistan and she paid for it. (She was the former Prime Minister who left under a cloud twice.) I couldn't believe it when she went back to enter politics. It was like a death wish.

Honestly, I believe she knew it was inevitable. I think she kept on going regardless, so she can help her people. Very sad.
