why?

I think in the U.K. they have more stability in the work place maybe?

it is not too much of a concern about keeping a job there as it is in the U.S?

I work fur the Co-operative group in Scotland(main warehoose). We huv been through many shaky times but huv been assured that oor jobs urr safe. We recently aquired some new stores and all is lookin' very guid. The company is lookin' tae get a bigger warehoose and urr prepared tae dae a new build. We urr kept up tae date wi' each new move and I um confident that I huv a job fur many years tae come....

Being a doctor is pretty secure. People are always going to be sick or dying. Other than that, in the US the economy is very unstable and no job is secure.

I don't think it changes from country to country as much as you may think. It all depends on the market for whatever particular job.
For example, as a concierge at an office block, my job is pretty secure, as long as there's still offices being used!

dont think my job is safe ,i work for one of the councils and they never seem to have any money and so like to change things on a regular basis
jobs used to be a place you could stay for life now it seems everyone is just doin a job to make a bit of cash

unsure aboit the stability in the uk workplace comparison
but redundancies are everywhere here in UKat the minute
finding a job and keeping it is very important wherever you live in the world i should think so!

it is fairer to judge job security by industry sector,, not by country ..

ie Information technology is obviously more competative

healthcare jobs are secure ...

i think this is consistant between world countries ..

and at the end of the day .. the US economy fails .. it ruins the rest of the world ,, which is why i think we should let american ties be lost and let you ruin yourselves instead of you hedonistic approach to fcuking up the rest f the world

I'm in Canada. My job is ok, but again, I'm in the airline industry so really anytime I can lose my job. I lost an airline job back in 2001.

i work for the NHS so judge for yourself .......... but actually my job isn't safe at the moment because of my ailing health in January i will know if i still have a job or not :)

my job is cashier at walmart and i m a temp. (temporary) but i might become a permanant. its not so secure as i want it to be but its better than most.
