Your computer is infected with spyware or a virus. Do not download anything that pops up. The programs below will help you clean it up.
Free online virus scan. If you don't have a anti-virus program then you can use a free online one to check your computer for viruses.

A couple of free anti-virus programs can be found at
http://free.grisoft.com/

Now to clean your machine of spyware I suggest 2 programs. Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware. These programs will be most effective if you run them in Safe Mode. On many computer you can get there by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as soon as your computer starts to boot. Then use your arrow keys to select Safe Mode.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html ---- Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

You can also use a program to prevent spyware from being installed in the first place.
Spyware, adware, browser hijackers, and dialers are some of the fastest-growing threats on the Internet today.
By simply browsing to a web page, you could find your computer to be the brand-new host of one of these unwanted fiends!
The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.

There a several reasons why your computer is freezing. First question is when was the last time you cleaned your registry. Having a corrupted registry can cause a whole host of errors and problems. Freezing up is one of them. If you have a lot of unnecessary registry keys that are hogging up your computer resources. Your computer is bound to choke. Scan your registry with a good registry cleaner. If you pull up more than 20 errors or duplication, clean your registry.
2. Depending on your RAM specs and your computer usage. This could also be a the issue. Having an insufficient amount of free space does not allow your RAM to function properly. If you are using a lot of RAM by net surfing or other activities without enough empty space your will get freezes. You don't need to buy new RAM but you should increase your free space by removing unnecessary data and perhaps increasing your virtual memory. The below link will show you how.
3. Spyware could be the culprit, so do a scan and see if your computer is infected.
4. That last area is a hardware drivers. This could be the problem if new hardware has been added to the system. So, the drivers should still be up to date. So try the first two suggestion and see if you can get your computer to stop freezing.
Check your drivers. Hope this helps.

After examining all those different solutions, it got here approximately to me that the difficulty could okay have no longer something to do with the OS, viruses, or any of that different nonsense. purely positioned, it can be a challenge resembling what I had some time in the past. i grew to become into experiencing the comparable hassles, the only element i ought to do grew to become into to close it down and attempt back later Lo and behold, i desperate to get a miles better tensecontinual at some point, I put in it and the difficulty disappeared. WHY? It seems that the difficulty grew to become into that the HDD grew to become into at fault. A techie informed me after finding out it, that a capacitor (a thingie that holds a cost for a undeniable length of time) interior the HDD grew to become into no longer functioning and hence it grew to become into overheating and closing itself down. answer: Get yet another HDD, set up the OS, set up all your backups and/or reinstall any classes or video games you like. countless artwork, yet however, a comp. is purely a chew of hardware, it could and does wreck down by no fault of your person. ;-)
