Yaz is a combined contraceptive with an overall efficacy rate of 98%...IF taken correctly. Average NORMAL efficacy rates are in the 95% range.
The people taking the pill who become pregnant with ANY oral contraceptive more often than not are to blame, not the drug. Missing pills, taking other medications that may inhibit efficacy and not taking the pill on time can all contribute to pill failure.

Yaz is a low dose birth control and that means that for some people the dosage isn't actually strong enough to prevent pregnancy. It is also known that some people that are overweight find that the dosage isn't enough for thier body mass. this was the case with the "patch" until they finally starting including a weight clause in the prescribing info. If you feel unsafe or unsure about your birth control method choice, you may want to look into using a backup method or try a new method. I am sure you can find more information about the efficacy rates of Yaz on the official website.

there is no birth conrol that is 100 % effective at preventing pregnancy. Althouhg some are 98 %, you can still be that 2 % that it wasn't effective for. im sure your problem can be either one (user error or the pill) you should talk to your doctor about it, they will be able to help way more than anyone on here. and if you don't want to go into a doctor's office just call and ask if they have heard anything about Yaz not working properly. good luck, and if you are worried about pregnancy use extra protection.

I don't know about Yaz but I did conceive while on Ortho-something (can't recall the name, that was 11 years ago) I never missed a pill yet I still got pregnant with my second son, Thank God he is healthy, I don't trust Birth Control pills.

I don't think that Yaz is that great. So, you might be using a bad pill... I would check out like Ortho Tri Cyclen. That stuff works better then any other pill I have ever taken.

NO contraceptive is 100% effective except for abstinence, even when used correctly.
