It is a new laptop and so far has not conected to any network. There is two other laptops successfully using the network. The laptop does hook up successfully to a cable, but wireless will not catch. I see my home network listed, I can select it and ask to connect, but connection trys for about 15 seconds and goes into the trouble shootng mode.

i would suggest calling your ISP Internet Service Privider they will know exactly what to do.

1. Check the settings for the wireless connection. They need to be the same as the wired.
2. New Laptops often have a switch on the front or side to turn wireless on and off. Check that yours is on
3. Double check your encryption settings. A simple typo can drive you crazy
As a last resort- Upgrade for your laptop. Get XP
(PS - yell at the laptop builder - a lot of them will put XP on your machine for a moderate fee or for free if you yell loud enough)
