I dyed my hair black for a few months also (im a blonde). When i got ready to take it out i used color oops cause i really didnt wanna bleach/strip it out (too much damage). I wasnt left with blonde hair but it definitely wasnt black anymore....i didnt follow the directions fully (i was in a cold room and didnt rinse it long enough). Ive read where a lady used it after 10 years of black dye and it all came out. Id give it a try if i were you, it doesnt damage hair like a hair stripper would (cause it doesnt strip color it shrinks pigment) so if it didnt work then you could give it a day or 2 then try the color remover/stripper.
