Remember the baby has to wear that name not you. Think about it for real.

I like it. We considered that name when I was pregnant with my son. I put my foot down and vetoed Phineas, and Seamus and Riley were our next two favorites. It's a good, strong Irish name. If you like it then don't worry about others saying it's terrible. They are probably all naming their kids Aidan and Emma. Conformity at it's best.

Seamus is wonderful. It is the Gaelic for John I believe.
Make sure it matches up with middle and last names please. Seamus probably won't go so well with a last name that isn't Irish, Scottish or English.

It's a lovely Irish name. It seems to work better with adults though. And yes, I know it's pronounced "Shay-mus". I would try to find a nickname for while he's little, but other than that, I say it's fine.

NO! No offense but that is the most horrible name for a baby I've ever heard. Don't do that to your child honestly. What does that even mean?

I think Seamus is cute.

don't like it - just imagine "here is my son - little, cute, baby Seamus....." doesn't fit - Stick with the Irish and maybe try Liam?

I think it's alright if you want to call your son "Shay". It's kind of cute! Many people would mispronounce his written name as "C-mus", though, if they aren't familiar with traditional Irish names.

Weird but oddly enough the first thing that came to mind when i read this was Samuel L. Jackson for some reason.

If you like it use it. You're child may not mind it like some people might tell you, but i dont like it at all.

it makes me think dirty things. if you get my drift. for instance i went to school with a kid whos last name was Seamon. you know how we said it, even though it was really pronounced SA-MONE

not my style at all though.
