I was hired at forever 21, the did a background check and called me and said i had the job. So I put in my two week notice at my current job. The manager said she had to get me an employee id number before she sets up my schedule and then almost two weeks past and I get a call saying oh I cant have the job anymore because she don't have space for my position. Is this legal after taking all my information and telling me i was hired???

Situations change. There's nothing you can do about it. I wouldn't worry too much, though, you can always get another part-time job at another teen-clothes store.

Yes, it is legal in most states. Next time do not quit a job until you have a SIGNED contract on your hands. Wish you the best.

It may depend on your state, TN is an "at-will" state, meaning they can fire you without any reason.
