can anybody help my pajero dont seem to have any speed when i am on the moterway i can put my foot to the floor and only get 60 out of it, the revs also are rong i have had new gear box oil put in, this has helped but not solved the problem .it sounds like the engine is labouring all the time i am going to take it to the garage but i was woundering if any body could put some light on this thanks

Was the gear box brand new or second hand? Its possible that the gear box is the wrong box for the engine type so in effect the gear ration is two high. If its a new box did the garage change the torque converter at the same time, if not then its possible that it is damaged.

hi i have the 2.8td auto model,i had a similar prob but it was the fuel pump manifold,it would run ok untill i put my foot down it would belch and fart ,
my dad has the 2.5 he had a prob with the gearbox changing down so it would rev too high,i think that was a fueling problem as well, gimme a few days i`ll ask him and i`ll get back to u , have a good new year
