I'm 29 weeks along today, with my 1st, its a boy. I called yesterday and signed up for child birth classes...There are 3 classes 3 1/2 hours long. Well they only hold them in the evenings so my fiance wont be able to go sense he works 2nd shift...my mom is going to go with me..which is nice because she will be in the room with me also when I have him. I'm just kind of upset because he cant be there. I dont want people thinking I dont have a father for my baby. Am I just being stupid?

no of course you want him there, and i am sure it has more to do with wanting him there because it is your first baby together and you want HIS support, completely understandable... see if he can switch one day with someone for either 1st or 3rd or see if he can call in sick that day or take a vacation day, it is important for him to be there, he needs to be a part of it, trust me the birth process will be a lot less stressful for him if he "practices" first

I don't think it's wrong to want your fiancee to be a part of this..but I wouldn't care about what other people think! People will always talk and gossip no matter what and if you're happy with just your mother being there for classes then be happy with it. It doesn't matter what other people think because you know the truth! That you have a loving man who's working hard to provide for you and the baby.

IF you want him to actaully go to classes you might want to look around some more to find a shorter saturday class...I'm sure someone has them for working parents. But it's up to you to make that choice.

yes, who cares what other people think..take the class with your mother and relax, I am sure the baby's father will be at the birth.....do you know how many single mothers are out there? I take care of my 13 year old daughter all myself, with no help from no one.....all baby's have a father...it takes a MAN to be a daddy, and I don't see many of them anymore. This is a special time time in your life, relax and enjoy it......

Stop worrying about what other people think. I was 17 when I became pregnant and the father (my now husband) and I weren't married. You are a strong woman. Let them think what they want about you.
