I just found out that there is a carpenters unioin in Boise, ID my home town, local 635. I did not know that right to work states had unions. Is this the same type of union as the union states, or something totally different? Is there a way to find out the salaries for these employees? Any carpenter union workers out there?

Absolutely there can be unions. Here in Texas there are lots of unions, but we are a right to work state. What it means to be in a right to work state is that you can not be required to join a union to get a job. It does not prevent people from forming unions or entering into collective barganing agreements (removing that ability would be unconstitutional).

Yes they can, but people are not forced to join them.
