the girl i have been chatting with from ghana has asked me for money for an airline ticket. should i send it to her? how can i tell if she is for real?

Don't send the money to her.
If you and her are truly close, then I would definitely suggest that YOU visit her in Ghana. If you're going to pay for tickets to and from Ghana, it's best if you are the one travelling. If she is truly interested in you, she'll be just as happy to know that you're visiting. When you visit, you can get to know her better and see how genuine she is.
Your relationship could be real, so I don't want to rule it out. I just think if you two are going to meet, it's best for you to visit her, since she can't afford to see you (and sending her money is a bad idea).

No, because you really can't tell. After you send the money, she can do whatever she wants with it, and its gone. Unless you really wanna risk losing all that money, I wouldn't send it if I were you.

if she needs cash for a health emergency it would be a different matter.
after you pay her the cash, you have no way to get it back.
i dont respect a girl who chats with a man and asks for money.

As much as I hate to say it, you could very well be chatting with a Nigerian guy. Make up some excuses, employ some delay tactics and see how 'she' reacts.

No, she is just trying to find a way to get out of her country, once she's here I guarantee you that you will never hear from her again.
