first of all
I didn't mean to star this
...accidental click
second, Hester is one of the most overrated players in the league
if Reggie Bush was returning kicks for Chicago, behind that kick return unit, he'd be doing just as well.
plus, he can run routes/catch the ball....and once in a while, he can run with it.
-update
I didn't say he was overrated on draft day
I'm saying that right now....there are a few players who get absolutely no praise for their kick return ability that could excel like Hester behind the Bears blocking (which gets absolutely no mention EVER)

If used properly Bush is the more valuable player because he can do more. Hester is great at returning kicks, a game changer and touches the ball 5-6 times a game. Bush as specialty back with a McAllister is clearly more valuable. Bush's coach seems to think Reggie can pound the ball 25-30 times a game, not.

Hester hands down! If you can tell me how Reggie Bush is a legitimate threat, then maybe I'd reconsider. He's an undersized, average running back who's really nothing more than a glorified slot receiver. He runs east to west more than he does north to south. Overrated, overpayed, underachieving. Hester for sure. And I'm saying that as a Packer fan about a Bears player, so you know I'm not kidding.

I have always felt that Reggie would be a very good slot receiver and special down back. However, I don't think his ego will let him quit trying to be primarily a running back. If you compare Hester and Bush as a featured back then Hester wins hands down in that he is a tougher runner than Bush. He also blocks better than Bush and is a very good receiver out of the backfield. His speed is also deceptive in that he is faster than one thinks.

Hester right now, but in the long run it will be Bush....there is no-way Hester can keep his momentum as a returner if they keep playing him as a receiver...."he will start hearing footsteps from free safeties and loose his edge"

Reggie Bush. If Devin Hester rooted for USC, he would win the Heisman
(sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Hester puts the Bears in a better position by giving them better field position every time he gets the ball. The only problem they have is scoring.
Bush needs to learn to stop dancing and take some punishment. I would convert him into a receiver.
