Success and failure are both self fulfilling prophesies. If you believe you will fail then any time something goes wrong you will point to that moment and say "See? That's why it can't be done." After a few things go wrong and you keep repeating that phrase, you do indeed fail and you have the satisfaction of saying "I told you so".
On the other hand, those who believe in success, when something goes wrong they look at that moment as an aggravation and set about figuring out how to make it go right so that they can succeed. As a result no matter what happens, they struggle and find a solution and in the end they succeed.
Whether you succeed or fail depends entirely upon whether you believe you will succeed or fail and then you will set out to make it come true.
There is another factor too. I firmly believe that given the time and resources you can do anything. If I asked you if you can play the piano, the wrong answer would be to say "no", that answer slams a door to opportunity. The correct answer is to say "I don't know, I haven't tried", that answer keeps the door of opportunity open.
Perhaps you'll never become good enough for the concert stage because you're not willing to put in the effort, but there's no question you can play the piano if you apply yourself.
In the same way whatever your dreams are, they are within your power to solve and achieve. It simply takes a determination and belief that you will succeed and it simply takes a hell of a lot of determination and effort. If you believe in yourself and believe that given the time and the resources you can succeed, you will because you will invest the efforts needed.
Have you ever watched a young child learn how to walk? The kid spends hours trying to figure it out and keeps falling over and yet eventually the kid figures it out. Why? Well it's simple really. First of all no one told the kid it was hard, so it simply got on with trying. Secondly, no one told the kid it failed or will fail, so every time it fell down it shrugged and tried again believing that perhaps the next time it will succeed. Thirdly, whenever the kid does manage to stand for a bit of time, everyone gets excited and applauds, so naturally the kid is going to keep trying again.
Well you were that kid once too and yet today you walk without thinking. That's an amazing achievement if you think about it. And it's even more amazing than you can imagine. When I was at university one thing I studied was dynamics, the measurement of objects moving in three dimensional space. The equations that describe such motions are lengthy and complex and they take forever to solve.
Yet, if you watch someone slip, their body will instantly go through several bizarre gyrations and within a second or two they've got their balance back. That is an awesome achievement. That brain had to solve those equations in milliseconds, then send out corrective signals to the right muscles to counteract the fall, then reasses the changes in motion, solving the equations again, and once again adjusting different muscles until finally balance is restored. And you do all this stuff without thinking. Imagine what else you can accomplish if you believed you can succeed and if you put your resources to the task.
The other thing that makes a difference between success and failure is the goal you set. If you set a goal that you'll have a million dollars in the bank in the next five, the odds are you're not going to achieve that. Why? Well five years is unrealistic unless you have an enormous income. In addition, whatever little you do have in the bank, it seems like a drop in the bucket and certainily won't get you very far towards your goal. As a result it doesn't take you long to give up in frustration because it looks like you're never going to make it.
It’s important to have a goal that is doable and short term. Take your big goals and break them up. What are the pieces that have to be accomplished to make the goal come true? How long will it take to achieve each piece? That exercise will tell you what kind of a time frame to set for your ultimate goal, and it will give you a lot of simple short term achievable goals. That’s more practical because now you can see results quickly which will motivate you onwards.
As you accomplish each little goal celebrate the achievement, pat yourself on the back and only then set off to do the next one. This us a sure way to achieve great things in the longer term without becoming demoralized.
And finally, remember you’re only human. You have to have time to eat, to sleep, to play, you can’t work full time night and day on your goals. So don’t burden yourself with too much to do even if each goal is doable. You can’t do it all, you only have the time and the energy to do some of it all.
So the bottom line in this story basically is to set little, realistic goals you can achieve and celebrate often as you achieve them and don't worry about the big goal, it will take care of itself. Believe you will succeed even when things go wrong, and invest the time and the resources you need to accomplish each goal. With that formula you have to succeed.
I hope this helps a little.

Self-hypnosis is a temporary change of thought that really doesnt leave a lasting impression on you. You have a huge part of the process done already. You have set goals for the future which is sometimes the hardest part. now that you know what you want to accomplish you just have to go for it. the ball is in your court. I know how you feel about getting tied down with everything and at time i too become overwhelmed. But you must keep trying. You dont have to accomplish everything at once. take your time and gradually you will become the person you have in your mind. believe me it takes patience and time but if you try hard enough and dont give up you will be the person you want to be. you can look fabulous by working out and taking care of yourself, keep your studies up, and that in return will leave you out there for a promotion. a great guy will def. want you if you are doing all that you say you want to do with you life. sometimes it seems so hard to do everything you want and become as confidence as you want but at the end of the day you just have to like who you are. sometimes things just fall into place as we go along. sometimes we blame people for the way we have become when indeed we have control over our life and how it turns out. go out there and try your best and thats all you can do. good luck and im sure with the mindset you have you will go far in life.

Start with the basics. Become the best you possible!
Get yourself together, in whatever way you need.
I know you have had mountains to climb, but don't always be focused on the mountair ahead. The longest journey starts with a single step. Just make wise steps, and you will succeed.
Looking fabulous is a great goal, for a woman's prospects! Focus equally on being fabulour inside.
Looks will fade, but character, integrity and humanity grow! Although they say "You can't take it with you", you can take character & integrity with you to the next life!
Remember that a well rounded person needs to have equally strong "spokes" so their "tire" doesn't flatten and slow you up.
Don't just succeed in business, succeed in strengthening your relationship with loved ones, and most of all, stay close to the One who loves you best, even though He knows your secrets.
The bible says 365 times "Do not be afraid", or words to that meaning. So He knows fear is a big enemy we must all over come, with his help and guidance.
You must crall before you can walk. Get your rest, so you can be sharp when you are awake.
Eat healthy, and become habitual about exercise to the point that it becomes a GOOD obsession!
Physical activity prepares you for success, come what may! Exercise helps you in every direction...metabolism, strength, health and even emotions bouyed by pharamones that exercise unleashes!
Think positive, and enjoy the journey. God bless you dear! Have a prosperous 2008.

The three biggest factors in success are as follows:
1) Maintain a good attitude
- Read books the provide uplifting messages. Try "The Secret"--available as DVD, CD and book.
- Try the Landmark Forum at http://www.landmarkeducation.com
- Associate with positive people who you can share some of all your goals and dreams with. Make new friends, join clubs,
2) write out your goals and read them at least 2X per day
- Goals must be measurable...should answer questions like: When will it be done, how much will be accomplished, who will it affect, what will I become
3) Develop your knowledge and skills In the specific areas you want to achieve success.
Just like a hundred thousand little steps will get you accross the desert, you become successful not by taking great big steps, but by taking the little steps every day.
And you become successful not by doing great things, but by doing the little things every day.

Studying and work always comes first.
So, to get promotions, you have to go to work with a good mood and do your job as best as you can, because if you do, you'll most likely impress your boss.
After you come back from work, go study for about an hour (the longer you study, the better you'll do)
As for working out, go to the gym on the weekends, or the days when you don't go to work w/ a friend.
Don't worry about the guy..fate will eventually bring the right guy towards you =], so you must wait.

First, pick one or two things to start with, or you will be overwhelmed. Write your goal in concrete terms, with a deadline. Write the steps you need to get there. Once or twice a day picture the results you want in your mind, as if you are there now.
Once a day, for at least fifteen minutes to start, work on one of the steps. Increase the amount of time spent on it after awhile. Celebrate your little successes.

it's good to have goals, especially someone like yourself however bear in mind that your goals (or a lot of them) are dependant upon other people. you have no control over other people at all and therefore you have no control whether you attain some of your goals. come to think of it you have no control over your goals anyway - for example you have the goal of looking fab and going to the gym or whatever. this is good constructive work. but what happens if you are nearly there at looking fab when u come down with a dibilitating disease and are left in a wheelchair?
constructive goals are ok, but hey it's better to live day to day that way disappointment is easier to swallow
