The dilemma will be where the left will fall on this issue....Bhutto was an Ally of the war on Terror and with the US, and Musharraf's was an Ally for keeping a moderate Muslim country with nukes from falling in radical Islamic hands in an unstable enviorment.

My guess they will consult Oprah check the polls and wait for Moveon.org for direction as not to offend the far left base.

Musharraf has already been implicated by his government's disregard for Bhutto's security at prior rallies.

Pakistan has remained our allie in spite of that. Aggravation of the situation is unlikely to change our foreign policy.

Your previous post associating this assassination with MLK was apropos. This was an assassination with government assistance via indifference to the safety of a political opponent.

Bhutto was standing up for what we say we are fighting for in Iraq. She should have received CIA protection if we sincerely believe our stated objectives in Iraq.

Great question.
Like one of the other respondents, I also think that the US has to play the hand their dealt. Pakistan, unfortunately, seems to be somewhat of a failed/failing state. (I hope I’m wrong) It is a funny (not in the ha ha sense) tangled web. The US needs a partner in Musharraf to continue their war in Iraq but I’m not sure they actually trust him. Instability does not only help radical elements but also Musharraf because it gives him tangible reasons to curb human rights and freedoms under the pretense of trying to bring order to the country. My heart goes out to the Pakistani people.

It will never be found that way..the nuke arsenal needs to stay in his hands as long as possible

maybe over on You tube some sphincter group is producing a pod-cast that is all that is needed around here..to slander and project hatred

Musharraf was targeted by Taliban Suicide bombers himself..so the actual methodology lies somewhere..else

there is something wrong when liberals have to suggest somebody is guilty by association to feed that daily frenzy quota
