My daughter is 5 1/2 months old. She woke up at 4:30 and threw up:( Since 4:30 this morning (it is now almost 11) she has only eaten 4oz of formula. She is constantly crying. Her temperature is 100.9. I have been holding her and cuddling her ever since she woke up but she just keeps crying/whining. She has been sick before, but she hasn't cried this much. I have tried giving her gatoraid so she won't get dehydrated but she won't drink it. I am worried she will get dehydrated. Is there anything I can do to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated, if she won't drink anything? Also, she is teething now. Could her constant crying be due to her teething or her being sick?

My son is sick as well since last nite he was warm and this morning around 6 had a fever and I gave him Motrin for infants. Yes teething can make her not want to eat and u can try Pedialyte or Sprite diluated. Call her doctor and make an appt to take her in. If her gums are bothering her u can buy sum baby orajel. My son has only drank 2oz last nite aroung 9pm and 7am another 2 oz but I guess they are just sick and rather not eat. Just baby her and try to get her to nap to feel better. Good Luck, let me know how she does Jess.

Call the doctor, they'll direct you as too what you should give your child.
Pedialyte didn't work with my daughter, I just tried water and some home made chicken broth-no salt or other additives or veggies. She loved that! Do worry, not uncommon for children to refuse, just keep trying and make it clear liquids instead of milk for the time being. And a temp of 100 isn't anything anymore. Its when it gets too 101 or 102 they ask you to bring them in...but call anyway.

Most likely it is from her teething because her fever isn't high. If it gets higher she might have a virus. If you have Orajel try putting some on her gums. Teething tablets are also good for babies that are teething. She should drink her bottle after some relief of her gums. Just try after that.

She is only 5 months old, don't give her gatorade. Give her some pedialyte. If this continues take her to the Dr. You don't want her to get dehydrated. She might need to have some iv fluids. It is probably just a little virus bug, but take her in.

Call your baby's drs office. A good doctor will have an answering service, or an alternate number you can call after hours. Have them page the doctor. This sounds like it could be serious, don't wait.

Poor thing. Have you tried baby tylenol?? She could be just upset because of her teething. My son (5 mos) just cut his first one and was crying/whiny and had a low fever, too. Try the tylenol and see if it helps. If not, call Dr and see what they say.
Blessings to you.

Give her pedialyte because Gatorade is too high in sugar! I would suggest take her to her Pediatrician, because her temperature is too high! Teeting is so hard on babies, also rub her tummy because she may have gas, which is causing her not to eat! But again I would suggest taking her to her doctor just to be safe! Good Luck!

the not eating, the fever, and the constant crying can be because of teething.. but the throwing up isn't. if you add that in the mix, she might have an ear infection. since her fever is up, I would defiantly get her to see the doctor today.
