If I have had a bad day I want to blast my music as loud as I can, it has to be ANGRY music, speed metal or heavy metal. It calms me down. If I am at home alone and I am cleaning the house, I like to play my music loud to help me get motivated to clean. If I am going out with the girls to a club we like to blast the music to get us in the mood to dance and have a good time.

you can hear all the different parts of the piece, including bass, or whatever. it also allows you to block out any other sounds that may be distracting, which allows you to really "get into the groove"

Apart from perforating your ear drum? I'm not sure. Too loud is an irritant for me thats why I like it soft.
