Nothing!!! Why would I want anything in return? It's not a business deal.
Even supposing, I'm not the type to give someone something for free, the very fact that I gave her something means that I was moved by her plight and felt compelled to help her...that's all.

All year long I crochet scarfs while waiting for appointments, breaks,...whenever I have time. Cold weather comes I give them to people I see cold and in need. No matter the situation of the poor they have feelings. So just a smile is enough..it warms my heart. Happy New Year

I would ask for a prayer. For in a time of elder knowledge and unfortunate circumstances, there could me no better faith than that in the hands of a beggar woman.

Have no expectations of anything in return - you make your decision to give based on your own need or want to do so, if she chooses to acknowledge it in any way that is completely up to her and you should not be able to dictate what that is. Your part in the transaction ends with the giving. Smile and walk away, unconditionally.

Just a simple thank you would work for me. I don't like to touch people let alone a beggar, so the kiss thing is just to much for me.

I definitely wouldn't want a kiss! I'd like her to "pay it forward." Do a kindness for someone else someday.

that is ridiculous. is she a prostitute? You might expect a thank you at most, but why would you ask for a kiss? I personally would rather not have the $
