I have a photograph of a relative from the 1880's. It is the most adorable picture of a little girl holding puppies. I would like to do something creative with it, but I don't know what. Any ideas?

Take it to a copy place and have a really nice copy made of it, then store the original in an acid free folder. Then the copy could become part of a door front on a cupboard, or maybe the top of a jewelry box, depending how big it is. Or you could just frame it in a really good reproduction frame.

if you have a few family photos go with the scrapbooking option and try splitcoaststampers.com for info on scrapbooking from the basics to advanced, also try a Michaels crop night, or, do a box frame or just the one scrapbook frame, make sure however what you use around the photo is acid free and/or archival safe as these items wont cause any damage to your photo. I am a scrapbooking teacher, so feel free to mesaage me and I can give you info on your local resources if you go down these routes. Have fun

Create a scrapbook of your family history, including the child in the photo. Have a genealogy record of family members and try and collect other memorabilia and family history.

First, make several copies so you can play with them rather than the original. One copy should be a "digital scan".

If the question had been "What would you do" etc., I'd say take it to cross-stitch chart engine and make a chart from it and stitch a copy. I'd offer copies of the chart to other relatives of the puppy-holder.

I think I'd have something like that painted if you could get someone to do that for you.

Sounds like it would make a nice painting.

Turn it into a locket.
