The theory of evolution does not say humans evolved from monkeys it concludes based on the evidence available that modern apes and humans share a common ancestor.
Can we drop the monkey business please.

It is interesting that those who claim to know better than Evolution don't know the difference between Apes and Monkeys!
Very Good point there.

People colloquially call anthropoid apes monkeys, and use it as a generic term for any primate which is neither prosimian nor Homo sapiens. This is irritating, but does at least indicate that the person using the term is not likely to present a cogent argument against evolution because they are ignorant and have not looked into the subject in much depth. In that sense it's actually quite helpful, but still annoying.

It's the same reason why Pluto has was declassified as a planet years ago yet the popular belief is that it is still a planet.

Science the method and science the popular belief are two different things.

One is a way of interpreting sensory experiences and empirical data and the other is what society believes about what the 'scientists' have recorded about these interpretations. Basically, the religion of science.

I would say too many answers and not enough research.

Good point.

Have you read anything about Mitochondrial Eve and all that talk? Or the seven Mothers of Africa? Interesting stuff. I can't get anyone I know to give it the time of day, but if you're intrigued we should talk about it or start a thread.

Evolution is a system of comparison. It explains nothing. It describes the similarities found between animals.

The only conclusion one can get from that theory is we are all related.

One can not show a direct lineage of creature progression.

Dogs are smarter then monkeys so it makes sense why we are evolved from monkeys.
