i've recently found out i'm a month pregnant and its my first kid so i'm not to sure of what exactly to expect. People keep telling me to walk alot and that will help the pregnancy be less difficult when its time to give birth. i am willing to do anything i can to make things easier so where should i go walking that is going to be best for me and the baby. How long should i go walking, how often? and another question. what would be the best things to eat during the first trimester while i'm nauseaus besides crackers.

First off, for nausea try some ginger ale or ever ginger snaps. I ate them alot and they helped a bit.
Don't start a difficult walking program right now, but if you walk already it's great to keep up your routine. I did about 2 to 3 miles a day while I was pregnant, up to the very end, because I'd been power walking before. I would start on a treadmill if it's bad or cold weather where you live. You don't want to slip if it's wintery and icy out. If it's nice, go to a pretty park with a friend and walk, or walk on your lunch break. Start with just a mile or so, slowly, and build up your speed. Make sure you have good quality shoes like New Balance, which is my personal favorite. Also, drink plenty of water and don't eat too much prior to your exercise so your tummy feels okay.
I had a very easy labor, six hours and only 30 minutes of pushing. I don't know if it can be attributed to the exercise or just plain old good luck, but I like to think walking did help. Good luck!

ANything that doesnt make you throw up is good to eat. Whatever will stay down.

You dont want it to be a new exercise routine. Just walk. I walked as soon as I found out I was pregnant and would usually walk about 1-3 miles a day, just up the road and back.

Just walk until you're done walking, and dont push yourself. If you cant hold a conversation while walking then you're walking too hard, or walking too long. Take water with you, you need it, even if you dont feel like you do.

Walking is great for pregnant woman!

If your body is not used to a lot of walking, you'll want to take it slow at first. They say this is not a time to increase fitness, just maintain it. You'll want to make sure you're hydrated, and not overheating. Always use the talk test to determine if your heart rate is too high. Basically, listen to your body-you should know when enough is enough. I walk usually 30-45 minutes at a time, but I have found that even in early pregnancy I got out of breath faster so don't be surprised by that. Your body is making a ton more blood for the baby, and this could cause you to feel out of breath faster or dizzy. Just don't overdue it, the little one can't tell you how they feel in there!

Walk as far as you comfortably can building up distance without being breathless or over heating most days of the week.(+-30Min) Walking in malls with air conditioning is a good idea. The walking builds your stamina and you will need that with labor and it also helps with weight gain and stress. Eat anything you can stomach except under cooked or raw meat/fish. No deli meats like cold cuts, raw egg, sushi and soft fresh cheeses like brie. Eat lots of veggies and drink allot of milk. If you have a kitty stay away from litter duty. When you are pregnant your immune system is not so strong so you will be more prone to tummy upsets or food poisoning. Also get a good pregnancy vitamin with lots of iron, calcium and folic acid.

Power Walking While Pregnant

I walk 20 minutes a day as advised by nurse. Was told by doc to stop walking when I have alot of pressure or it becomes uncomfortable. I always make notes to take to my next appointment to be sure. Your body is going to go thru alot of changes so pay attention because every pregnancy is different.

Peanut butter was my best cure for my nausea. Peaches helped with the heartburn. Pickles help to ease the stomach. Ice cold water was also treat!

I think the most important thing is just to be getting some exercise. It doesn't matter how much or how little as long as you are getting your blood flowing and you aren't causing yourself any pain or overdoing anything. Be sure to drink lots of fluid. Crackers were the only thing I could stand to eat. It depends on if you want something savory or sweet. Sometimes your cravings will tell you what you want and what will stay down. Otherwise crackers may be your best friend for a while.

i think its advised to keep up the kind of fitness that you was before. so if you never went walking before dont start going on long hikes lol im not sure walking will make child birth easier, but keeping active, and not over exerting youself cant be bad. i kept boiled sweets in my handbag, these helped whenever i felt a bit ill when out and about., but at home small meals help as digestion slows down. peppermint tea helps if you feel bloated, and is also good at settling sicky stomachs
