Its a logical impossibility to prove a negative, no matter what the subject. Sophism has nothing to do with that logic.

No one can prove or disprove a belief system through argument. It is a BELIEF. The sun was said to have circled the earth until telescopes got enough people to believe something else. You could not have convinced anyone different prior to that and this is a physical, reproducible experience. Interpreting the world and daily experiences through the filter of 'God is doing this' is not. It is entirely 'make believe' and subjective. Two sensory experiences put through two different 'belief' filters will come up with different results.

The most important question you should ask is whether you are not pretending you believe in god out of fear. You can not prove that to anyone.

No. The most that may be proofed to the negative proposition as to a Gods nonexistence is what a God has not done in the past in positing of what is known as historical fact.

One example employs the double negative, e.g. a God did not restrain a God from creating the serpent in the garden. This described God is not absolute in mercy, healing, teaching etc..; Hell, the destruction for the first born, the creation for evil etc etc

Atheists have no need for such things, since 1) the word 'God" has never been characterized in a coherent way, and 2) Lacking a belief in a deity is not a positive claim, and therefore needs no evidence.

I can offer a deductive proof against the Abrahamic deity, however.

The burden of proof lies with the one making the claim. I.e., by claiming god does exist, you would need to provide evidence (if you want to convince others at least).

Most atheists acknowledge they can't prove "there is no god". But they see no good evidence to believe in one, and would argue most evidence points to a universe without a god (certainly no god that "meddles" in human affairs).

Why do people believe in their particular version of god?

Why not still believe in Zeus? Prove he doesn't exist...

Prove that there isn't an intelligent talking teapot orbiting the sun somewhere out in space...

Hello:

Just as there is no proof that can prove God existance there are also no proofs that can disprove the same.

In both cases it is what the person feels or thinks is true. They can be justified, however the nature of God's existance...what we say God is...makes its existance or non existance unprovable.

I hope this helps

Sweetheart, the burden of proof is upon the believer, not the atheist.

Proving absence is impossible, and it's not at all rational for me to say "There's an invisible pink and purple unicorn on your shoulder; prove there isn't!"

The burden of proof lies with the person making the affirmative statement.

The words "athiest"...and "sophism" are meaningless!!

to relate to this so called"God"...the "mind" must stop making up theories with words and tune into whatelse is there!
"there"...is where one finds clues!
but to see this...the observer MUST realize he/she is NOT seperate from the "observed" but the SAME!

maybe... but are christians able to prove that there is a god without using quotes from the bible? The fact is that anything you believe is simply what you believe, there really isn't enough existing proof for either side...

there is in simple terms one God. That God would nicely be defined as each thing in creation that strikes without predicament. It has an intelligence previous ours, and is familiar with each thing forward and backward in time, even however we are customarily shown forward. Atheists (real ones, no longer agnostics) have not got any means to respond to the ordinary question of ways the author can prepare us the destiny by employing way of our desires. Buddhists who've labored with their desires could be waiting to respond to it because it is not any longer an alien concept, in simple terms no longer nicely understood by employing maximum of them, which includes ones that have written dream books.
