I like too many of these answers although I probably agree with JFK the most. I'm gonna let this one go to voting. Thank you all for the answers.

Ronald Reagan In a time when haters swarmed from all corners he kept his cool and united this country. ( I was here I saw it revisionist libs) I would have had them all jailed but he pursueded and really got people to invest in his vision. He is a Giant!!J.C. WAtts Jd Hayworth Two very good Examples of what Congress should be Go serve Well and Leave they are great examples to all that follow. Newt Gingrich Who took on the status Quo on Capital hill and forced a change with the help of the Hammer and others. Jim Trafficant, and Bob Dornan because they did not conform to the political garbage up there and they bucked the system.they actually did work .

Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Winston Churchill.
All were mature leaders& statesmen in their own right.
Each had the dignity,discipline,integrity & strength of knowledge of a military background.
As good soldiers they would be the most reluctant to engage in military action without overwhelming reasons.
They proved themselves in world affairs during & after WWll.
Head and shoulders above most who followed.

Again JFK, and the longest serving member in the House of Reps- Jon Dingle (D) Michigan, pro-gun, pro-labor and a true reflection of his constituency, a rarity in todays world.

Jimmy Carter during my life time on late 20th and 21st centuries for his dedication toward international democracy and humans issues specially the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
