I live in Pakistan. I'm completely in shock. I wasn't a supporter of hers, but I am deeply saddened by her death. Unfortunately, it willl have a detremental impact on the country as a whole, not only in the political environment. Bhutto was an extremely popular figure here. There will be rioting and bloodshed initially. The elections scheduled for Jan 8th will be postponed and serious inquires will be held to point the finger as far away from President Musharraf as possible. Pakistani people are already highly agitated and this is the last thing the country needed at this time. Fortunately for the counrty, Bhutto's death will save the nation from another round of corruption and thievery. She was as corrupt as they come in this counrtry.

Pakistan was my last great hope for a moderate Islamic nation in that region that would cooperate with other nations. I saw Benazir Bhutto as a beacon for the people to help them on a path to peace and prosperity. Obviously there are too many people who would rather kill, maim and cause anarchy than live in peace. I think that two things can happen - first the people who just want to live their daily lives in peace could rally around her cause and force changes in the government and the radicals or the radicals can take over and we could see a Taliban run Pakistan or a chaotic mess. Oh yes, India could just go right in and reclaim Pakistan in whole or in part - taking advantage of the chaos.

Only time will tell.

According to an interview in November of this year between David Frost and Benazir Bhutto (attached), Osama bin Laden has already been murdered (per Ms. Bhutto). The Bushes just keep him around to keep us on our toes.

The rank and file Muslim posess good qualities and cannot be blamed for this awful event in Pakistan. It is likely that Bin Laden is around somewhere their.I do beleive his whereabouts are known to the US and Britain, that being the case then its time to make a move.In a few weeks time this Lady would have brought the demise of Bin Laden closer. They have a nuclear capability and this must be taken from them at once. This killing has undermined the fragile democracy in Pakistan.Cross the border GW big guns blazing.
