I totally agree I'm from Surrey and have been living in Sicily for the past 3 years, every time I go back to the UK to See my parents (usually 2-3 times a year) I lose money on exchanging my Euros for Sterling, plus things are so expensive in the UK compared to Sicily, I think it is totally wrong for England to be an EU member but not to adopt the EU currency.

Why should Britain adopt the Euro? Right now the Pound is the strongest currency in the world. Many other countries adopted the Euro because it was originally locked in 1 to 1 with the USD and they had slow economies and unfavorable exchange rates. I think Britain should hold out on adopting the Euro until it is in their best interest. That is to say the Euro's value vs. the USD increases even more or the GBP is nearly equal to the Euro and likely to remain. Historically countries that have switched to the euro have had cost of living increases with no wage increases. I've seen this first-hand in Italy and Greece. If this were to happen in Britain it would cause a serious problem for the economy and the Euro.

Living on Cyprus I suppose you are not nationalistic. By all means have the Euro so that it will make life easier for the Bank of France and Germany.
As for UK forces using it, it matters not. They have been using National currencies wherever they served for years.

Loose your currency, loose your country. Quite a price to pay to overcome a piddling conversion problem when you go on holiday. It's a little like telling the hangman that the rope is tickling your neck.
I though that British troops swore allegiance to the Queen, or, in other words, Britain.

Changing to the Euro has far more implications. One of them is that our Gold reserves would be sat in a Bank in Berlin never to be recovered.A referendum would be necesary the outcome being that the majority would vote for the change subject to conditions.

Shove the euro, why is it people in this country are determined to ruin this country, plus why should our economy help support others the pound is stronger than the Euro. People who fought for this country in the Wars would turn in their grave if they could see our once great nation now.

YES the sooner the better. We get ripped off every time we travel abroad because of the exchange rate and the banks make billions per year. You can shop the whole day long with Euro in London NOW. Bring it on, with or without the queens head.
