He bothers me. When he said he would, in a close decision, decide in favor of the Christian, it really bothered me. That blasted First Amendment says that the government can't favor one religion over another.
I don't really know how to express this well I guess, but I always believed that a Christian should try as hard as he can to be fair and just to everyone, not just those with whom he agrees. The First Amendment and the Great Commandment get in the way a lot.

What makes you think that he's trying to win over voters using his faith? Just because his Christmas ad had a floating cross in the background? (It was just a bookcase appearing that way, yeah ok).
This country was founded on the very basic core that there must be a separation of church and state. I don't feel that any candidate who intends on bringing his/her religious beliefs into the White House, rather than making decisions for the good of the nation as a whole, should be elected.
No, I am not voting for Huckabee.

Hmm, never thought of this aspect, but since he's a minister or preacher like some have said, does he have to pay income taxes like the rest of us? How is he supposed to know what effects a "Fair" tax will have on normal citizens? I never heard him talk about that stuff until another candidate took off like a rocket, with "unconventional" views before him. I am being slightly facetious, but I feel it's tax loopholes that corporations and smart people leverage, while the rest of us buy a 6 pack on Friday, and go back to work on Monday. (I run a small corp, and I know a few tricks, you have to, the code books are 5 inches thick!).
I know our pastor has to pay very little for housing (most of it's a write off), and not too sure about the income tax, but he lives comfortably. I like our pastor, I do NOT like Mike Huckabee. He has a degree in communications, not theology (like he lied about).

Your question runs along the lines of people calling Senator Clinton a witch.........why is that. Because if people see the words put together enough they start believing the 2 words. Huckabee-christian, Hillary-witch, obama-Muslim, sounds like a trick I have heard before "9/11-Saddam Hussein"

I feel much the same way about Huck. I don't know that he will be able to stop pushing his faith down our throats.
I am a Christian and I LOVE GOD!!!! But I think it is horrible when people try to use God as a means to gain power or money or both.

Most politicians use religion to sway voters as they know that even non practicing folks will choose a "wholesome, christian" candidate over, say, Romney. Its unfortunate that in this election religion has taken such a front stance. If we could just get Oprah and the fundies out of it maybe someone decent would have a chance. Personally i think all politicians should be agnostic, that way they definately wouldnt be biased toward any group and would need less support from private religious funding.

He is playing the "religious card"! He is not worth voting for though. He is a CFR member! I don't think he ever even read the constitution. He thinks the 2nd amendment is for duck hunting! Plus he is a liar!
"Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told the Christian Broadcasting Network he had a theology degree, he told voters in Iowa he had a theology degree, he repeated the claim in last month's CNN YouTube debate ... but, his campaign now says, it was not true."- World Net Daily

I agree he is trying to use his religion to sway voters. I am Christian as well... But Huckabee doing sermons with John Hagee is just scary. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/500879/religious_huckster_mike_huckabee_embraces.html
Huckabee is really kind of a scary guy, no one seems to know how he got this jump in poll numbers so fast... do you think it could be his role in the cfr? :)
