I have a Kodak Digital Camera, but does that mean I would need a Kodak Printer?

Yippee I got a Pentax Opti for Xmas and today connected it to my Epson printer, it worked fine, so give it a try. Good luck

Technically yes. But photo printers give better quality.

You should be able to use any printer - of course a poor quality printer won't do as well as a good one.
