I would have to say the one game playoff that occured this year between the Rockies and the Padres. The Rockies went into that game as heavy underdogs with Jake Peavy pitching against them, and they were able to puts some runs on the board against him early. The Padres ultimately took the lead in extra innings on a big home run by Scott Hairston and the Rockies looked doomed with Hoffman, the games greatest closer coming in with a two run lead. Somehow the Rockies managed to put 3 runs up and continue their amazing run to the World Series. It also put great players like Tulowitzki and Holliday on the national scene

July 24, 2004 red sox vs yankees it was a spirited game and it proved that Boston fights harder... it was a couple of weeks after Jeter almost made the DL with that stupid egocentric dive into the stands... let the thirdbaseman get it.. oh right. anyway.. Tek beats up Arod and Tanyoun Sturtze gets whooped by Gabe Kappler... then they Yankees were ahead and Billy Mueller hit a walk off home run and thanked god. Rumor has it that Tek told Arod that Arroyo wouldn't throw at a .190 hitter on purpose and that's what started the fight. Arod was wicked struggleing at the time.

From pinch hit homeruns to clutch pitching topped off with Fisk's dramatic hr. The game will never be surpassed in my opinion. And un like bdts739 I saw the game.

Game 4, 2004 ALCS.

A shift of the tides.

Red Sox begin 4 game come back being down 0-3 to the rival Yankees.

Red Sox, as you probably know, ride the momentum from the game and have an 8 game win streak beating the Yankees 4-3 in the ALCS and sweeping the Cardinals 4-0 in the World Series.

July 1, 2004 Yankees v. Red Sox

omg, SUCH an amazing game. i saw this game a few weeks ago..it's a Yankee Classic and it aired on TV. that was the game where Jeter dove into the stands. the game was so good...12 innings long I think? I'm not sure, maybe 13. the Yanks ended up winning but it was so close. that game basically sums up all the reasons i love baseball. great defense, great offense, lots of excitement.....if only every game could be like that!!

that's one of the best.

another one of my favorites was Yanks v. Sox (again, of course) in the 2007 season at fenway when the Yankees were down by like 7-3 or something in the 8th inning i think...? my brother and i were so angry and i was considering not watching the rest of the game. then giambi hit a homer. then robi cano did (or maybe the other way around) and then my brother and i got so excited. at that point, there were no outs. so they went on to score a bunch more runs and the inning ended with us being up by one run. it was AMAZING. i absolutely loved that game.

wow, just talking about those games makes me happy :)

Mets Astros in 1986 was like 16 innings. real exciting.
Astros and Cards in 2004 or 2005 before the series. Was like 13-14 innings. Was a late season game and the Astros got into the series.

1969 saw a lot of Tom Seaver games when he pitches to a 25-7 record. That was also good baseball.

Game 6 Reds at Red Sox World Series 1976. One of the best games every played. The Reds lost, Fisk hit that home run where he is trying to guide it inside the foul pole on his way down the first base line. I was twelve and mom let me stay up way past my bedtime on a school night so I could watch it on TV. Great game. Pete Rose ask Jim Rice ...isn't this fun... during the game. The players knew it was one of the best games every played while playing it!! How awesome. I have alwasy been a Reds fan so it was hard to take the loss, knowing we needed the win for the title. I still think that is the greatest baseball game I've ever seen.

Game 3, 2005 World Series, Astros vs. White Sox.

14 innings of fun and nervousness! CRAZY!!! You have the most unexpected bench player come and crank the GW home run! And Mark Buehrle comes and saves the game!

In Chicago, it was about 1:15 AM when they finished!

Oooooooh wow, there are so many of them.
Regular season:A game in June 1989,The Blue Jays vs the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Boston led 10-0 after six innings, the Blue Jays rallied with two in the seventh, four in the eighth, and five(including a grand slam by Ernie Whitt)in the ninth to eventually go on and win it 13-11 in 12 innings.

Playoffs: 1992 ALCS,game four at Oakland, the Blue Jays rallied from a 6-1 deficit to win 7-6 over the Athletics, including a grand slam homer by Roberto Alomar off of A's closer Dennis Eckersley.

World Series: Although I am a Blue Jays fan,and it was ever so sweet watching them win their two World Series, the best World Series game that I ever watched to this date is still the masterfully pitched 10 inning 1-0 game by Jack Morris for the Minnesota Twins in their game seven win over the Atlanta Braves in 1991.
