I'm presuming, pixie, that you already have a CD/DVD rewriter in your computer. Software alone won't allow you to write (burn) CDs/DVDs without one.
Anyway, here's a few burning programs that you might like to give a try.
There are obviously others available, but these all got a clean bill of health from McAfee Site Advisor, which tells you whether it's safe to download from whichever site you visit. Maybe you'd like to download that. It's free, and there are versions for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Once installed, it will give an indication (next to the address bar on Internet Explorer, and at the bottom of the page on Mozilla Firefox) with either a red bar, meaning dangerous. At risk of adware/spyware/trojans/viruses; a yellow bar, meaning that some users have reported that they've obtained adware/spyware/trojans/visuses from the site; or green, meaning safe to download from.

i hear alot of people is saying burn4free is a good 1. nero is also another good one but complicated to use. to get nero download ARES.
