I assume by this question that you are asking us to take your word that you do not fit the label upon which you ask? OK, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
I am and will continue to adhere to the axiom that there is no such thing as a stupid question as long as the person asking is sincere, actually does not know, and wants to learn.

To the people that believe "there are no such things as stupid questions", questions dont have a degree of goodness. It's just a question... no smart questions, no stupid ones. Just questions.

Ah, but that saying is false. There are stupid questions, lots in fact. And even more stupid people.
Anyway the answer to the question "then what kind of questions do stupid people ask?" : any kind of question that stupid people ask. Stupid people don't automatically ask stupid questions though.

speaking on many different levels, it's easier to answer a stupid question, than fix a stupid mistake.
Sorta like asking a question you know you don't want the answer to.
"Where do you want me to stick this?" Comes to mind in that category. Unless you really just enjoy seeing people struggle with themselves to be tactful, be ready for the answer.

It is not the questions that are asked by stupid people, that are of concern. It is the stupid answers that are given by intelligent people, that should concern us!

That BS that people feed children is exactly what it is, BS. There are stupid questions as they are stupid people. It has nothing to do with intelligence. Even intelligent people can ask stupid questions, and stupid people can ask "smart" questions.

'Why don't you support Ron Paul??', would be my first guess.
OK...that was mean....I admit it. I'll go sit in time out and think about it.
EDIT: As a wise Mr. Garrison once said, 'there are no stupid questions, only stupid people'.
