I was just curious, how many people like/love/hate Australia..
Someone told me that they thought Australia sucked...
How many people think that?.. just curious

I loved Australia - spent a year working there, mainly in Sydney. Soooo didn't want to come home when my year was up! I just loved the laid back lifestyle - the sun, the beaches, positive attitudes, great nightlife. There are so many diverse places to visit too. A few I particularly loved were the Great Barrier Reef ( fantastic islands here such as Hayman & Hamilton) - Ayers rock - The Blue Mountains. Travelling through the outback was great - the scenery is fantastic. Its some time since I was in Oz but I also distinctly remember visiting a little town called Coober Pedy - its well known for its Opal mines - was soo hot though! Brisbane was great too - the weather is a little more tropical there.
If you're thinking about going I'd say go for it!!

I don't know much about Australia at all but from what I've seen and heard I would love to visit someday. It sounds like a wonderful place.

I have never been to Australia....but for my soon to be 50th birthday, my spouse is "surprising " me with a 3 week trip to the "land down under"...(shhhhhh... don't tell anyone and don't ask how I found out....)
So I (hopefully) will love Australia once I get there!!

One of my best friends went to mission there, and she loved it. She said the area where she was really sucked - dry desert with hardly any trees - but she really liked the people and culture.

good things:
1.nice accent
2. rainforest!!!
3. great country and people
bad things:
1. taratulas
2. very hot

I never been there... but I think it'd be pretty cool to go there!

I don't have any opinion about it one way or the other. Never been there, and I definitely never hear about it in the u.s. media...
