from a girls point of veiw i think it is very romamtic to ask a girl to marry u on valentines day. take her to dinner somewhere and then pop the question.

Well i guess it's not too bad if you've only been going out a couple of weeks. Last year i only just met my boyfriend so we didn't do anything or any presents but this year he's taking me out somewhere for the day... a suprise. Some guys just need to get to know people well to be able to be romantic with them (which v-day obviously is). Depends how you feel about it really. Maybe he's not just the romantic type in which case, you can either pretend you don't care and cry to your friends OR welll no it's not okay. Point it, if he doesn't want to be romantic (YET at least) there's no point trying to persuade him by telling him about it. He does know it's valentine, he's made that choice.

That is a great day to propose to a girl. Valentine's Day means love, and what better way to express your love for her than proposing?
And about the best way to propose to her--
don't listen to anyone on here. You have to come up with an original idea. One that she will never forget, and also one that seems like YOU came up with it, not some stranger on Yahoo! Answers.

if you need advise on proposing then I personally,as a woman, do not believe you need to be marrying her, also proposing on valentines day is extremely cliche plus it is not a day which is special to both you and your girlfriend. take some time to think about it, she'd appreciate it more if it was an idea from your heart not some idea you acquired on yahoo answers

In my opinion (and I am a girl) it would be a wonderul idea for you to propose to the girl on Valentines day.
Take her somewhere special...
Where you took her on your first date, perhaps?
Then just... Do what you want to do from there.

To propose might be a better suggestion...and if you need advice on how best she might like you to propose, then you don't know her well enough, and you really should wait a bit longer before you do it.

Take her to her favorite spot and do it there or wait til she falls asleep slip the ring on her finger and ask her to marry you as you kiss her hand and tell her good morning.
