If the shield bearing on the bottom end of the pistons in my Ford Focus were worn or damaged what sort of symptoms/noise would I experience ?

Loose or damaged rod bearings sound like a deep sharp thumping noise all the time as the motor is running. Loose piston pins or a cracked piston sounds like a slapping noise all the time. A closed stuck hydraulic lifter sounds awful also similar to a rod bearing only not as deep sounding. More like a hammer striking a plate of steel.

you would get a rattle when putting the power down.

also you would lose top end power.

in time the piston will break free and come threw the engine casting

IF you mean the little end or big end rev your car to about 6000 rpm a let the fu*ker blow.Ithink sombody is pulling your pi**er pal
